The ALPLA story in figures
Our company's history began in 1955. At that time, two brothers Helmuth and Alwin Lehner had big dreams and founded Alpenplastik Lehner Alwin GmbH in their parents' laundry room. Today, ALPLA is one of the world's market leaders in packaging solutions.
With a rich history and a diverse global workforce, the company's legacy can only be continued with trained specialists. This includes hiring new apprentices and providing the right training for long-lasting careers.
So, let's write your next chapter together. Apply for an apprenticeship and earn your degree with us!

Working in North America
ALPLA North America became an extension of our global company in 2001. Since then, we’ve opened 15 locations (and counting) where our regional headquarters is based in McDonough, Georgia. Though our operations are based all around the country, apprentices in this program will reside near our Iowa City facilities. There, you’ll learn and work in our state-of-the-art facility to get hands-on training with proprietary machinery and understand how our team works.
As part of the ALPLA family, you will work with big brands like P&G, Unilever, Abbott, Clorox, and Henkel to name a few. You will understand our company Identity and how we pride ourselves on having a conscientious culture geared towards our people!
As an apprentice with ALPLA, you will hear about our values and see how we’re making a difference in sustainability and in the community.
